4 great shows like Agatha All Along

As a seasoned binge-watcher with a penchant for all things magical and whimsical, I wholeheartedly endorse this list of shows that share a similar vein to the enchanting world of “Agatha All Along.

Agatha All Along stands out as one of the most buzzed-about series this fall, generating a level of anticipation and enthusiasm similar to many of Marvel’s Disney+ shows ever since the streaming platform first debuted in 2019.

Following the viewing of all nine episodes of Agatha All Along, fans can anticipate a prolonged period before the second season (or future installment) becomes available on Disney+, which might be disappointing news. However, there’s some positive news as well: it appears that Agatha All Along season 2 is likely to occur. Although Disney and Marvel have yet to make an official announcement about the series’ return, showrunner Jac Schaeffer hinted at more Agatha in the future after the astonishing ending and finale of season 1, according to Marvel.

Additionally, we’re blessed with an abundance of captivating and magical series such as “Agatha All Along”, which keeps us entertained until the arrival of season 2.

Let’s get the list started with one of my personal favorites, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Where to watch: Netflix

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “In the thrilling saga of ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, I, Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka), navigate my dual existence as both a typical teenager and a witch, residing with my aunts Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilda (Lucy Davis), as well as my cousin Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) in the neighboring town of Greendale, adjacent to Riverdale. This series sees me treading a delicate balance between the human realm and my supernatural side, which frequently clashes. Frequently, I find myself safeguarding my mortal pals from the malevolent forces lurking in the shadows.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa developed “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” a show that takes place in the universe of Archie Comics’ town of Riverdale. The series, which aired on Netflix from 2018 to 2020 across four seasons, was unfortunately terminated due to the impact of COVID-19 and escalating production expenses by Netflix.

Apart from Shipka, Perdomo, Otto, and Davis, there are several other notable stars gracing our screens in this series. They include Gavin Leatherwood, Ross Lynch, Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Tati Gabrielle, Lachlan Watson, Adeline Rudolph, and Richard Coyle.

Go ahead and give “Riverdale” a try while waiting for more episodes of “Agatha All Along”. You never know, you might enjoy it!

Mayfair Witches

Where to watch: Netflix and AMC+

In a sense, “Mayfair Witches” could be considered the contemporary TV show most similar to “Agatha All Along.” However, it’s important to note that “Agatha All Along” is exceptionally unique and hard to compare due to its exceptional quality, star power, and distinct narrative. “Mayfair Witches,” created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, debuted on AMC in January 2023. This series is adapted from Anne Rice’s novel trilogy, titled “Lives of the Mayfair Witches.

The TV series Mayfair Witches boasts a remarkable ensemble featuring the likes of Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, Annabeth Gish, Tongayi Chirisa, among others.

In the show, Daddario’s character, Rowan, uncovers that she isn’t merely a sorceress, but an exceptionally potent one from one of the most influential witch dynasties, the Mayfairs. As Rowan grapples with her new reality, she simultaneously fights off a demonic adversary.

At present, there’s just one season of ‘Mayfair Witches’ available for viewing, which can be found on Netflix and AMC+. However, I’ve got some exciting news! ‘Mayfair Witches’ season 2 is indeed in the works. The second season will air on AMC starting January 5, 2025, so you’ve got a few months to watch the first season and get ready for the new episodes!

As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but notice the striking similarities between “Once Upon a Time,” “WandaVision,” and “Agatha All Along.” If you loved the twisty narrative of “Agatha All Along,” then I believe you would find yourself deeply engrossed in the enchanting world of “Once Upon a Time,” a seven-season series that graced our screens on ABC from 2011.

In the quaint town of Storybrooke, Maine, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) and her son Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) uncover that they’re in a fairy tale world alongside other characters from well-known stories. Their task now is to discover the reason behind this situation and find a way to reverse it!

In a former time, this captivating series boasts an extensive ensemble portraying beloved fairy tale figures, such as Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Robert Carlyle, among others.

Where to watch: Disney+

Some enthusiastic viewers, upon hearing about an intriguing series featuring a witch with Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, Patti Lupone, Joe Locke, Evan Peters, Ali Ahn, and Sasheer Zamata in the starring roles, couldn’t wait to catch it. Ever since hints of Agatha All Along were dropped during WandaVision in 2021, Marvel fans have been eagerly anticipating its release. Indeed, Agatha All Along is a spinoff from WandaVision, and those who choose not to revisit the series after watching Agatha All Along might find it quite intriguing.

WandaVision, streaming on Disney+, stands out among Marvel’s series for its grand scope, and it’s truly impressive! The show features Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, more famously known as Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany as Vision. The storyline takes place not long after the incidents in Avengers: Endgame, where we find Wanda and Vision living harmoniously in a charming neighborhood. However, as the idyllic facade begins to crack, Wanda becomes increasingly uncertain about her own reality.

If you liked Agatha All Along, you just have to watch WandaVision. Luckily, you can on Disney+!
