As a dedicated fan of Star Trek: Voyager, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia as I witness the show’s resurgence in popularity. With new audiences discovering the wonders of this unique franchise and classic favorites making appearances in the latest series, it feels like being part of something truly special.
Star Trek: Voyager is experiencing a resurgence in popularity lately. The series has gained new followers on Netflix, who were drawn in by its unique charm. As a result, the show’s original cast and characters are once again receiving warm welcomes from fans old and new. With the release of new shows in the franchise, Voyager seems poised to captivate audiences all over again.
Several beloved characters from previous Star Trek series have made appearances on new shows. For instance, Jeri Ryan portrays Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Picard, Tim Russ plays Tuvok, Robert Duncan McNeill reprises Tom Paris in an alternate form for Star Trek: Lower Decks. Additionally, we’ve seen Kate Mulgrew as Kathryn Janeway, Robert Beltran as Chakotay, and Robert Picardo as The Doctor in Star Trek: Prodigy.
To put it another way, only four main characters from the franchise remain to be featured, and we hope to include these three in a potential third season of Prodigy.
Neelix
Having grown up as a devoted fan of Star Trek: Voyager, I’ve seen my fair share of character development arcs that left me both frustrated and pleasantly surprised. Neelix is one such character who, at first, seemed irredeemable to me. But having rewatched the series recently with fresh eyes, I now believe that some viewers’ dislike for him stems from not giving him a chance beyond the initial seasons.
B’Elanna Torres
B’Elanna Torres, who played an essential engineering role on Star Trek: Voyager for seven years, could bring her expertise to the Prodigy crew. Though she may now be retired, her knowledge and experience would significantly benefit the team. It would be a delight to have Tom Paris and their potential offspring alongside her, but securing B’Elanna alone would suffice if that’s all we can manage.
Harry Kim
As a long-time fan of Star Trek: Voyager, I can’t help but find the humor in the fact that Captain Harry Kim never got promoted during his tenure on the ship. It’s a running joke among fans, and it’s always fun to imagine what could have been if he had finally made lieutenant after all these years.
