30 Rock actor John Lutz shares a heart-wrenching message about the unexpected passing of his younger sibling.

Lutz, aged 52, who gained fame by portraying J.D. Lutz on the popular NBC sitcom, expressed deep sorrow upon learning about his brother’s unexpected demise on Thursday. This tragic event leaves behind his spouse and four young offspring.

Joel, approximately fifty years old, functioned as the Executive Director for mosaiXmultiply, a global entity dedicated to establishing numerous multicultural churches.

I’m absolutely devastated to share that my cherished younger brother, Joel, unexpectedly left us last Thursday. My loved ones and I are reeling from the grief that has enveloped our hearts.

Joel was warm-hearted, kind, and humorous. I have so much more to share about him, but my heart is heavy at the moment, making it hard for me to find the words. Regardless, know that you are deeply loved.

He posted another link, this time leading to a GoFundMe page set up for Joel’s family – his spouse Jenni, teenage twins Ellery and Rhea, Zoe who is thirteen, and ten-year-old Josiah.

The fundraiser has generated more than $60,000.

In the year 2009 during the show’s fourth season, John Lutz became part of 30 Rock, portraying an underachieving, heavyset writer who frequently encountered ridicule or jest from his coworkers.

He was also a writer on Saturday Night Live for seven seasons.
