3 WWE wrestlers to breakout in 2025
As a long-time wrestling enthusiast with years of memories etched into my mind like the Battle of Bosworth on the halls of King Richard III, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for these three rising stars in WWE.
2024 is nearly over, offering us a wealth of achievements to reminisce and cheer about in the world of professional wrestling. As we stand on the brink of 2025, it’s time to gaze into the future with anticipation. With that spirit, let me share three WWE stars who are primed for a spectacular year ahead:
Michin
Michin isn’t a fresh face in the wrestling world; she’s been around for nearly two decades as a pro wrestler, and her peers clearly appreciate her skills. However, when considering the women’s division, Michin might not be the first name that comes to mind as a potential champion. Instead, she often finds herself helping others reach their peak performances. Despite not claiming any titles in 2024, she frequently found herself in title contention and involved in significant rivalries. Notably, she made appearances on WWE NXT while maintaining her role on the SmackDown roster.
2024 saw numerous significant milestones for Michin, such as a side-splitting dumpster encounter with Chelsea Green and a clash in the championship finals of the WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament. This year was pivotal for her journey within WWE, and here’s to hoping that in 2025 she adorns herself with some championship hardware.
Tavion Heights
WWE made a wise decision in sending Tavion Heights on an excursion to Japan, as he was already a gifted wrestler with a strong Greco-Roman background. However, it was during this stint that he truly captivated the hearts of many wrestling fans. Upon his return to WWE NXT, he continued to build on this momentum. He particularly shone in the tag team match at NXT Deadline and is now a strong contender for a singles run in the upcoming year. By the end of 2025, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him holding either the NXT North American Championship or the Heritage Cup.
Oba Femi
It’s clear that Oba Femi had an impressive 2024, with a record of 33 wins and only 2 losses, as indicated by Cagematch. This strong performance underscores his significance in the WWE NXT booking. After emerging victorious at NXT Deadline in the Iron Survivor match, it seems likely that Femi will claim the NXT Championship from Trick Williams to kick off the new year. However, these accomplishments merely scratch the surface of what Femi is capable of. There’s optimism that he could one day headline WrestleMania and has the ability to achieve this goal. Keep an eye out for him as he aims to extend his title reign for over a year before making a significant impact on the main roster, much like Bron Breakker has done so far.
