3 true crime shows coming to ID in September you won’t want to miss
As a seasoned aficionado of all things chilling and crime-related, I can confidently say that Investigation Discovery has once again managed to pique my interest with their lineup for September. Being a connoisseur of true crime stories, the return of these shows is like a feast for the mind, albeit a rather grim one.
In September, it’s common for the big scripted TV series to make a comeback, but maybe that’s not your thing. If you’re more interested in true crime, Investigation Discovery has got you covered.
Three intriguing series are set to premiere on ID channel come early September. These shows promise a diverse exploration into various murder cases, delving into tales of elusive serial killers burying their victims, as well as an abundance of homicides occurring within a quaint, seemingly peaceful town.
How (Not) to Get Rid of a Body
The initial show debuting on ID starting September 4 is titled “How (Inadvisably) to Dispose of a Corpse“. This is the title that will be premiered.
It’s astonishing how far some individuals will go to cover up their heinous acts of murder. Remarkably, certain serial killers have remained undetected for months, even years, and some have managed to evade capture entirely. However, it’s also worth noting that others inadvertently devise strategies that ultimately lead to their apprehension.
Each installment in this series delves into the cunning minds of criminals who have meticulously concealed their victims’ remains to avoid detection and escape justice for their heinous crimes. The aim is that these victims remain untraceable, allowing the perpetrators to commit murder without consequence. Without a body or any forensic evidence, it seems they have succeeded. But rest assured, this country’s elite investigators will leave no clue unexamined in their relentless pursuit of justice.
The Real Murders on Elm Street
On Monday, September 9th, two fresh true crime series make their debut. The first one is called “The Real Murders on Elm Street“. I’m sure the street name sounds familiar! Yes, it’s a tribute to Wes Craven’s horror franchise featuring Freddy Kreuger, where this particular street appears.
In six distinct installments, we journey through quiet suburban neighborhoods that have been shattered by heinous murders. These once peaceful residential areas transform into tragic scenes of needless violence. Remarkably, each episode shares the name “Elm Street,” and you might be astounded by how many instances of murder have occurred there. It’s a far cry from the vision Wes Craven had for this setting.
Cabin in the Woods
Have you only watched the film “Cabin in the Woods”? But have you heard the actual tales behind it? You might have thought that killings in isolated cabins are mere myths or legends. The latest release on Monday, September 9 is also known as “Cabin in the Woods”.
As a longtime fan of both true crime and horror genres, I’m quite intrigued by this upcoming series. Given my extensive background in investigating unsolved mysteries and my fascination with the supernatural, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. The fact that this show seems to be combining these two thrilling elements has piqued my interest even further. I must admit, I’ll be keeping a close eye on its release and will undoubtedly plan any future vacations with caution, just in case the series takes inspiration from real-life events!
