This week, Peacock will add three Marvel movies rated R to its streaming selection. These films center around a character who is part vampire hunter and fights supernatural foes, all while dealing with his own inner demons.
Blade trilogy to stream on Peacock next month
Starting April 1, 2026, Peacock subscribers will have access to all three Blade movies—Blade, Blade II, and Blade: Trinity—for streaming.
The movies center around Blade, a unique hero who is part human and part vampire. Known as the Daywalker, he spends his life protecting people by hunting down and destroying vampires. His mother was bitten by a vampire while pregnant, and though she died during childbirth, Blade was born with all of a vampire’s power but none of their vulnerabilities. Over the course of the series, he battles various villains, including Deacon Frost and Dracula, using his extraordinary abilities.
David S. Goyer wrote the majority of the Blade movies and directed the third one. Stephen Norrington directed the first film, and Guillermo del Toro directed the second. Wesley Snipes starred as Blade in all three movies, and recently returned to the role in the 2024 film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
The three R-rated Marvel films feature a strong supporting cast, including well-known actors like Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, Donal Logue, Ron Perlman, Norman Reedus, Leonor Varela, Donnie Yen, Jessica Biel, and Ryan Reynolds.
The first Blade movie came out in August 1998, with two sequels released in March 2002 and December 2004. The trilogy received a mixed response – critics weren’t impressed, but audiences generally liked it. The original film was the best-received of the three, currently scoring 59% on the Tomatometer and 78% on the Popcornmeter at Rotten Tomatoes. The entire Blade trilogy has earned over $418 million worldwide.
A television series based on the movies premiered in 2006, created by Goyer, but it was canceled after just one season. In the series, Sticky Fingaz Jones took on the main role, replacing Wesley Snipes.
