3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold, 46, Battles Stage 4 Cancer: Heartbreaking Video Announcement
3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer aged 46.
In a deeply emotional video shared on Wednesday, the composer behind the popular song “Here Without You” revealed that he’s been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer which has also affected his lung.
Brad, who’s part of the band 3 Doors Down, greeted everyone and expressed his hope that they were enjoying their day. Unfortunately, he had some disappointing news to share.
About two weeks back, I fell ill, subsequently visited the hospital for a check-up, and was diagnosed with advanced clear cell renal carcinoma, which has spread to my lung.
We’ve reached the fourth stage now, and that’s not ideal, but here’s something to remember: we serve an almighty God who has the power to conquer any obstacle.
Indeed, there’s nothing to worry about me. I’m genuinely unafraid of it in every sense. However, it seems unavoidable that we’ll need to call off our summer tour due to its influence. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

‘I would greatly appreciate it if you could lift me up in prayer whenever you can. I feel it might be beneficial for me now to listen to ‘It’s Not My Time’. Thank you all so much. God bless you. We care for you. Until next time.’
In simple terms, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most prevalent form of kidney cancer, accounting for approximately 75% of all diagnosed cases.
At stage three and four it kills between 85 and 90 percent of patients.
In the United States, kidney cancer ranks as the seventh most prevalent cancer among males, while it’s the tenth most frequent among females.
Only around 10 to 15 percent of patients diagnosed with late stage ccRCC survive after five years.
Arnold belongs to the trio of original band members, including Tod Harrell and the late Matt Roberts (who passed away in 2016).
Following the addition of Chris Henderson on guitar, they put out their highly successful debut album titled “The Better Life,” which includes hits like “Kryptonite” and “Duck And Run.” This album has since earned multi-platinum status.
