If you’re searching for a thrilling series to watch this weekend, you’ll find three new options available on various streaming platforms, each with a unique storyline. Some of the greatest thriller series ever made include classics like True Detective, The Wire, and Breaking Bad. The rise of streaming services has only made this genre even more popular.
As a huge thriller fan, I’ve always loved how well these shows work with binge-watching. It’s amazing not having to wait a whole week for the next clue in a complicated mystery! If you get hooked, you can just dive in and solve the whole thing in a night or over a weekend. And honestly, these three series? They’re exactly the kind of mysteries you can’t help but binge-watch to find out what happens.
3. The Night Agent
Season 3 of the hit action thriller The Night Agent is now available on Netflix. The series is incredibly popular – season 1 alone was viewed by 98.2 million people within its first 91 days, making it one of Netflix’s top 10 English-language shows. And critics love the latest season: The Night Agent season 3 currently has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the highest-rated season yet.
If you’re in the mood for a gripping spy thriller filled with suspense and action, the latest season of The Night Agent is a perfect choice for a weekend binge. Season 3 follows Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, who uncovers a dangerous worldwide conspiracy linked to a secret online money network reaching into the highest levels of the U.S. government. With 10 episodes, it’s ideal for watching all at once.
2. 56 Days
Prime Video’s new series, 56 Days, is a suspenseful psychological thriller starring Dove Cameron (known from Descendants) and Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap). The show centers on Ciara Wyse, a young woman from a working-class background played by Cameron, and her relationship with the wealthy Oliver Kennedy, portrayed by Jogia. At first, Ciara appears innocent and Oliver seems enigmatic, but they both hide secrets that are soon revealed.
As a film buff, I was immediately hooked by this series! It starts with a really intense romance, but things quickly take a dark turn when the police find a body – and it turns out to be connected to the couple’s complicated relationship. It’s an eight-episode erotic thriller that’s seriously binge-worthy – I couldn’t stop watching! What I really loved was the power play between the two main characters; it kept me guessing about who was really in control the whole time.
1. The Last Thing He Told Me
Lastly, “The Last Thing He Told Me” on Apple TV is a bit unique. Unlike the others, new episodes are released weekly, with the first episode of season 2 available on February 20th. Since the new season just started, it’s the perfect time for new viewers to watch all of season 1 and then tune in to the season 2 premiere to get up to speed.
In The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer Garner plays Hannah Hall, who is trying to figure out what happened after her husband, Owen Michaels (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), suddenly disappears. He leaves a puzzling note urging her to “Protect Her” – referring to his daughter, Bailey, played by Angourie Rice. Like other thrilling series, this show is full of unexpected twists, suspenseful moments, and well-developed characters, making it perfect for a weekend of watching.
