3 AEW names ready for a breakout 2025

As a seasoned wrestling enthusiast with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I am beyond excited for what AEW has in store for us in 2025! It seems that Tony Khan and his team are gearing up to introduce some fresh faces into the limelight.

2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year in professional wrestling as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) enters a fresh television deal and begins streaming content on MAX. With this new chapter for the company, fans are eagerly awaiting the emergence of some promising new talents. Here are three performers who could potentially have a breakout year by 2025.

Private Party

2024 marked the year when Private Party triumphantly secured the AEW World Tag Team Championship, a moment long-anticipated by fans over a five-year period. With their newfound belts in hand, 2025 promises to be a year dedicated to solidifying them as one of the elite teams within the wrestling industry. The focus should be on showcasing their ability to stand tall against any pair of opponents they encounter. Simultaneously, AEW must prioritize nurturing fresh tag teams, rather than relying excessively on FTR and The Young Bucks. Placing the titles in Private Party’s hands presents a chance to revitalize the entire division, paving the way for exciting new matchups.

Big Bill

Absolutely! The Learning Tree is seen as an overused trope by many, longing for its departure. Chris Jericho, known as a “momentum black hole,” has already affected numerous careers negatively. However, Big Bill might break this pattern and establish himself independently. Currently, Jericho holds the Ring of Honor title, but there’s an opportunity to pass it to Bill, boosting his reputation in the process. As The Learning Tree gimmick is bound to fade eventually, here’s wishing that Bill manages to stay significant till 2025. He has the potential to shine on the roster and could make a great midcard champion in the coming year.

Willow Nightingale

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel that 2025 could be the year when Willow Nightingale truly takes center stage. She’s been a constant presence in high-profile feuds and even held the TBS Championship in 2024 – a title run that served as a stepping stone for Mercedes Mone. But make no mistake, Nightingale is the kind of multi-talented performer who could anchor the entire women’s division. There’s nothing she can’t handle, be it inside the ring or out there as a company ambassador. It’s high time Tony Khan realizes that he’s nurturing a potential franchise player in Willow Nightingale. I’m hopeful that 2025 will see her crowned AEW Women’s World Champion and holding that title for an extended period.
