3 acts and feuds that would improve the AEW main event picture
1. Hangman Adam Page vs. Darby Allin: This feud would showcase two rising stars in a high-stakes, intense rivalry that could capture fans’ attention and generate excitement.
2. The Young Bucks vs. The Dark Order: Pitting the popular tag team against one of AEW’s most intriguing factions would create a compelling storyline with plenty of potential for twists and turns.
3. Cody Rhodes vs. MJF: This matchup would feature two charismatic competitors with strong in-ring skills, creating a classic rivalry that could captivate audiences and add depth to the AEW roster.
Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega and Buddy Matthews versus the Don Callis Family
In the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, there were two intriguing segments involving Will Ospreay. Initially, he had a fantastic opening match with Buddy Matthews – a result many anticipated. However, following their bout and some news about Malakai Black gave off the impression that Matthews might embark on a solo career. Later in the night, Ospreay stepped in to protect Kenny Omega from an assault by the Don Callis Family.
The scene is prepared for Ospreay and Omega to clash with the group that wronged them both. However, they are short one member. A gap that Matthews, aiming to launch his solo career in wrestling, could potentially fill. If The House of Black truly disbands, it’s conceivable that Matthews would gain a significant advantage by partnering with the two most prominent figures in AEW. Such an alliance might significantly propel him towards his initial major push within the promotion since joining.
The Hurt Syndicate Doing Business
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) added MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin to their roster as a sign of the strong fan support for The Hurt Business, which had faced mismanagement in WWE. AEW now has a chance to gain goodwill by featuring these three talents prominently in a major storyline at the top of their card.
Initially, Lashley and Swerve Strickland were matched up against each other, marking a promising beginning. In essence, Lashley overpowered Strickland effortlessly and advanced. Currently, there are indications that Lashley might team up with Benjamin in the tag team division, aiming for the belts owned by Private Party. Given AEW’s approach to its tag team division, this appears to be a demotion. Instead, it would be more fitting for this trio to occupy main event positions, with Lashley pursuing the championship title. If business is truly thriving, they should be given such high-profile roles accordingly.
Feature The Women’s Division
It’s tough to ignore the fact that the female division in AEW currently offers more intriguing storylines than the male division. The journey of Toni Storm, from her rise to power to her downfall at the hands of Mariah May, was a popular angle among fans. However, it seems that Tony Khan has yet to provide the women with the attention and prominence they deserve in this scenario. It’s high time for a change, especially considering Mercedes Mone consistently delivers exceptional matches. Allowing the women more opportunities to shine would have lasting benefits, and positioning them as the main event angle while the male division undergoes retooling might not be such a bad idea.
