As a huge movie fan, one scene that always gets to me is Spock’s death in The Wrath of Khan. Right before he sacrifices himself, he says, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.” It’s such a powerful line, and it hits even harder because the film cleverly established that phrase earlier on. Plus, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner both deliver absolutely incredible performances in that moment – you really feel the weight of Spock’s decision and Kirk’s grief. I was listening to the latest episode of the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast with Janet Varney and Dante Basco, and Greg Baldwin – the voice of Uncle Iroh – brought up a really interesting point.
