2025 Video Game Movie Now Streaming on Prime Video

The popular video game movie, which earned a lot at the box office, is now available to stream on Prime Video. This news comes over seven months after the movie first premiered in theaters.

What video game movie is now streaming on Prime Video?

I’m so excited that The Minecraft Movie, with Jack Black and Jason Momoa, is finally available to stream on Prime Video! It’s based on the incredibly popular video game, and while it’s been a huge hit with audiences, it didn’t quite win over the critics – it currently has a score of 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 197 reviews. Still, I can’t wait to watch it again!

The Minecraft Movie has quickly become one of the most successful video game adaptations ever made. It’s earned over $958 million worldwide, more than doubling the previous 2024 record held by Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ($492 million). While incredibly successful, it hasn’t surpassed The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which remains the highest-grossing video game movie with over $1.3 billion in global earnings.

Get ready to enter the world of Minecraft, where using your imagination isn’t just about building things – it’s key to staying alive! The story follows four friends – Garrett, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn – who are dealing with everyday challenges when they’re unexpectedly transported to the Overworld, a strange and blocky place powered by creativity. To find their way home, they’ll need to learn how to survive in this new world, defend it from monsters like Piglins and Zombies, and go on an adventure with Steve, a surprisingly skilled builder. Along the way, they’ll discover that the creativity they thought they lacked is exactly what they need to succeed, both in Minecraft and back in their normal lives.

Jared Hess directed the movie, which was written by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. The story originated with Allison Schroeder, Chris Bowman, and Hubbel Palmer. The film features a star-studded cast including Jennifer Coolidge as Vice Principal Marlene, Emma Myers as Natalie, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, Sebastian Hansen as Henry, Rachel House as Malgosha, Matt Berry voicing Nitwit, Jemaine Clement as both Daryl and the voice of Bruce, and Kate McKinnon.
