Percy Jackson reveals Tyson casting at SDCC 2024

As a longtime fan of the Percy Jackson series, I’m thrilled to hear that the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is on its way, even though filming hasn’t started yet. And what a fantastic piece of casting news we received at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con! Daniel Diemer, who charmed us all in “The Half of It,” will be joining the cast as Percy’s cyclops half-brother Tyson.

Jordan Peele rebooting prank show Scare Tactics for Halloween this fall

In 2003, Syfy aired “Scare Tactics,” a prank show created by Scott Hallock and Kevin Healey during the height of prank show popularity. The series, which included hosts such as Shannen Doherty, Stephen Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan, ran for five seasons until 2013. Since then, there have been plans to reboot the show by Blumhouse, but it appears that project has yet to progress.

James Wan’s new project Teacup gets first trailer at SDCC 2024

I’m a big fan of James Wan’s horror masterpieces, such as Saw, Insidious, Conjuring, and Malignant. Though he’s been focusing more on producing lately due to his new collaboration with Blumhouse, he hasn’t slowed down when it comes to delivering terrifying films for audiences to enjoy at theaters. However, his upcoming producing project, Teacup, will be a change of pace as it premieres exclusively on Peacock.

It’s time to quit Apple Arcade

As a long-time gamer with a soft spot for mobile games, last month’s announcement of “Fantasian: Neo Dimension” stirred up a whirlwind of emotions in me. I’ve been following this game since its early development stages and was thrilled to hear that it would soon be making its way beyond Apple Arcade’s exclusive realm.

Tom Aspinall vs. Curtis Blaydes preview and prediction

At UFC 304 in Manchester, England on July 27, Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight title against Belal Muhammad in the main event. An intriguing co-main event features Tom Aspinall, the interim heavyweight champion, taking on No. 4 ranked Curtis Blaydes. In an unusual turn of events for an interim champ, Aspinall opted to defend his belt instead of waiting for Jon Jones, the undisputed heavyweight champion, who is injured and expected to return by the end of 2024. Jones had expressed interest in a likely retirement fight against Stipe Miocic. Aspinall sought activity and chose this rematch following an underwhelming previous encounter.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II remasters leak from SDCC 2024

Two highly favored Soul Reaver games created by Crystal Dynamics could potentially receive an upgrade with remastered versions, based on information that seems to have leaked from San Diego Comic-Con 2024. A promotional material for “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered,” an unannounced project, was discovered at Dark Horse’s booth during the convention, suggesting a revival for this long-neglected franchise.

Chris Pine has the right idea for Star Trek 4

For several years, plans for Star Trek 4 have been under development without much progress beyond hiring new writers and directors. In contrast, Paramount+ managed to produce and finish Section 31 within a year. Although it may not boast the same elaborate features as a theatrical release, the special effects in shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Discovery have been impressive. Each episode of these series reportedly costs around $8 million for special effects. While Star Trek 4 will likely have higher costs due to star salaries, it doesn’t mean the visual effects need to be excessively grandiose.
