2024 Logie Awards: Mother and Son star Denise Scott, 69, issued brutal warning after WILD after-party antics

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be in awe of Denise Scott – a woman who embodies the spirit of resilience and unapologetic zest for life that Australia holds dear. From her wild after-parties reminiscent of a 1970s rock star, to her fierce performances on the small screen, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

If stars are seeking an entertaining post-Logie Awards experience in 2024, they should consider associating with Denise Scott.

According to her son Matt Okine and his on-screen mother Denise, they were cautioned by hotel staff due to Denise’s tendency for lively post-event gatherings. (Daily Mail Australia)

Matt disclosed, as he stood beside Denise at the Logies red carpet, that the hotel ended up issuing a caution instead.

They asked us to sit down and explained, “Please, no disturbances in Denise’s room as there have been numerous concerns raised previously.”

Matt mentioned that it wasn’t only the excessive noise and late hours that concerned management, but also Denise’s habit of deliberately damaging hotel assets in a manner reminiscent of a 1970s rock star.

Matt stated, “We don’t have the funds to purchase a new TV should this one accidentally fall from the balcony.”

‘So, yeah, we’ll have to find somewhere else to do it.’

However, Denise’s Logies after-party plans might have a bit more of a romantic bent.

‘I’m going to, you know, hook up with someone, I guess. As I usually do,’ Denise joked.

Both Denise and Matt are up for awards this year.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be among the contenders for the Silver Logie Award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy, all thanks to my captivating portrayal of Arthur in the fresh ABC revival of Mother and Son! It’s an honor to be recognized for bringing this beloved character back to life.

Currently, Denise is nominated for the Silver Logie Award in the category of Best Lead Actress in a Comedy, for her portrayal of Maggie in Mother and Son.

The show itself is also nominated for Best Scripted Comedy Program.

As a longtime fan of the show, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard the news that the comedy series had been renewed for a second season! With its unique humor and relatable characters, it has become one of my favorite shows to unwind with after a long day at work. The fact that it will be returning for six more episodes is simply fantastic news. I can’t wait to see what new adventures the cast will embark on and how their stories will continue to unfold. Plus, knowing that filming begins later this year means we won’t have to wait too long to watch the new season! I’m already marking my calendar for its premiere date – I can’t imagine a better way to spend my evenings in the coming months.

The pair told Daily Mail Australia that the season renewal and nominations felt ‘great.’

‘It’s a relief, you know, we’re taking on a very, very important legacy,’ Matt said.

To ensure our efforts were appreciated and to foster the trust needed for a return visit, we’re aiming to deliver an exceptional experience. We’re eagerly anticipating your return.

2024 will see a fresh take on the beloved ABC show “Mother and Son,” originally starring Ruth Cracknell and Gary McDonald, which aired from 1984 to 1994.

The narrative unfolds around Arthur, who following a breakup with his patient girlfriend, returns to live with his widowed mother Maggie.

Lately, Denise has shared details about the grueling 17-month journey she underwent during her fight against a particularly aggressive type of breast cancer.

In early 2023, an adored Australian comedian received a cancer diagnosis, which he shared publicly for the first time in August of the previous year.

She has just shared the uninterrupted 17-month journey she’s been through, which includes both chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, to combat a particularly aggressive type of breast cancer.

Yesterday marked the end of my 17-month continuous chemotherapy journey, specifically for HER2-positive breast cancer. I took to Facebook to share this significant milestone, accompanied by a photo from the hospital.

Denise assured everyone that her recent mammogram results were clean, expressing gratitude to her supporters during this challenging period.

‘For now, at least, the treatment has done its job,’ she penned.

The most recent mammogram showed no issues. After the initial chemotherapy, I sadly lost all my hair. However, during the second round of a different type of chemotherapy, some thin, somewhat underwhelming tufts of hair started growing back.
