2022’s John Wick-Like WWII Action Movie With 94% RT Sets 2025 Sequel Release Date Through New Studio
The long-awaited follow-up to the 2023 film “Sisu” has officially set a release date. The initial Finnish production, penned and helmed by Jalmari Helander, was a World War II story focusing on a tenacious prospector who resorted to violence to safeguard his gold from Nazis. The original movie garnered rave reviews, securing a Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh score of 94% and earning $16.4 million globally against an estimated budget of around $6.5 million. In the upcoming sequel, Helander and lead actor Jorma Tommila reprise their roles, with newcomers Richard Brake (“Barbarian”) and Stephen Lang (“Don’t Breathe”) joining the cast.
Screen Gems has revealed that they will be releasing Sisu 2 in cinemas on November 21. The original Finnish World War II action movie, distributed previously by Lionsgate, was also produced by Screen Gems’ affiliate company Stage 6 Films. This time, however, it is Stage 6 Films who will handle the distribution rights for Sisu 2, outside of Finland.
