16 & Pregnant star Whitney Purvis penned memorial for man whose overdose death she’s charged in

Whitney Purvis, a former star on MTV’s reality series 16 and Pregnant, wrote an emotional tribute for the person whose drug overdose death led to her being formally accused on Monday.

Thirty-three-year-old Purvis visited the location of the funeral home that managed the services for John Mark Harris, a 37-year-old chef who officials claimed received lethal substances from Purvis.

Purvis posted on the Henderson & Sons Funeral Home site on March 3, ‘I deeply regret discovering what transpired today and not being able to attend your funeral, John.’

Over three months ago, I, an overly enthusiastic fan, shared a message on social media – little did I know that this seemingly innocuous act would become part of a larger story. You see, it was Monday in Floyd County, Georgia where my beloved idol was apprehended, implicated in the unfortunate incidents of involuntary manslaughter and distribution of controlled substances, along with other serious felony charges, as reported by TMZ on the very same day.

‘I wish I could’ve found out sooner and attended your celebration of life,’ the reality star said.

Purvis expressed gratitude to her dear, departed companion for being an exceptional friend who consistently made her feel beautiful and cherished.

‘Purvis shared that her deceased friend and she had formed a strong bond due to their mutual love for culinary arts. They were united by their passion for cooking and the challenges they encountered in the process.’

She praised Harris for his candor and intelligence in their interactions over the years.

The MTV alum added ‘You’ve came to my rescue on many occasions and saved me over the years. 

‘I am so very thankful for the times we had together.’

Purvis, who stands accused of employing a communication device to facilitate a crime related to controlled substances, expressed that she was grappling with severe emotional distress due to the passing of a close companion.

‘My brain just can’t process this happened. I don’t want it to be true,’ she said.

Purvis mentioned several memories connected to him which she would sadly miss following her friend’s demise.

She expressed, “I’ll dearly miss receiving your playful texts and photos, as well as your exceptional culinary skills. I will also miss our cozy evenings spent together on the couch watching TV.

I’m going to really miss our conversations under the open sky, sharing Camel Crush cigarettes, discussing life, exchanging gossips, and you recommending movies and shows for me to watch.

Purvis described her late friend as an exceptionally kind-hearted, unique individual whom she will always remember.

Purvis, with over 17,500 followers on Instagram, expressed his sympathies as follows: ‘May you rest in peace, and my deepest condolences go out to your loved ones.’
