While many have grown fond of its fresh perspective on the Jedi and compelling conclusion, it’s also received criticism for its narrative flow, writing quality, and failure to fully utilize its setting. During the viewing experience, some fans found themselves pondering about the vast potential for further storytelling within the “Star Wars” universe on television.
As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I can’t help but ponder about exciting concepts that Disney might consider for their next Star Wars show. Here are some ideas that could potentially ignite the galaxy far, far away:
Knights of the Old Republic
As a dedicated gamer for years, I’ve always held this Star Wars video game in high regard – a title that has captivated fans for two decades, undeniably standing out as the best of its kind. This award-winning RPG offers an unforgettable journey, taking place 4000 years before the movies and delving into a war between the Republic and the Sith. The game is brimming with memorable characters such as the psychotic droid HK-47 and a plot twist that’s as shocking as discovering Vader was Luke’s father.
A TV series could effortlessly transform the game into several seasons. Additionally, it could spin an independent narrative occurring in the same era. Regardless of the approach, “Knights of the Old Republic” enthusiasts would be thrilled by such a show, and the developers would enjoy the liberty to concoct unique tales from the past. The vast potential that Lucasfilm can tap into is immense.
Young Palpatine
What was Emperor Palpatine’s background before he gained power in the Star Wars universe? This remains a fascinating enigma. Details about his birth, upbringing, and first encounter with Darth Sidious would make for compelling viewing. Was Palpatine ever an innocent figure, or did he harbor an early fascination with the Dark Side?

The “Rebels” animated series then depicts a more mature and damaged Maul. This leaves ample room for exploration about how Maul climbed and fell from power, making the concept of Maul as an interstellar crime lord intriguingly tempting.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that Ray Park might have outgrown the role, but it’s not the end of the line. New actors can step into the limelight and continue the legacy of this extraordinary Sith warrior. Furthermore, incorporating flashbacks to Maul’s training under Darth Sidious would be a fantastic way to delve deeper into the intriguing background of this formidable character.
The Rule of Two
The ancient war between the Jedi and the Sith is terrific fodder for a TV show. The Jedi seemingly won this war, but the Sith lived on. A series could center around the surviving Sith Lord Darth Bane. Going into hiding, he created “The Rule of Two,” under which there can only be one Master and one Apprentice to keep the Sith going.
Previous literature has explored this concept, yet a television series might elevate it further. Given that “The Acolyte” delves deeply into hidden Sith, it would be intriguing to depict their origins on screen.
Doctor Aphra

It seems Disney has been struggling to launch a movie based on Rogue Squadron. Perhaps it would be more feasible to create a TV series instead? A spin-off of Star Wars akin to Top Gun could prove profitable. The storyline could unfold during the era of the original trilogy, or while the Resistance is in the process of rebuilding.
To make the aerial combat scenes convincing, the special effects team will need to put in a lot of effort. With the perfect actors, we can expect compelling characters that inspire audience support. It’s high time for the Rogue Squadron to steal the show in movies.

Since debuting in the Clone Wars comics, Quinlan Vos has been a fan favorite due to his complex nature as a Jedi with a distinctly gray area ethic and a penchant for defying tradition, making him an intriguing character. An unreleased Clone Wars storyline would have seen him joining forces with Asajj Ventress, a former Sith apprentice. Obi-Wan Kenobi confirmed that Quinlan managed to survive Order 66, suggesting he could be the star of his own show.
As a passionate fan, I’d be thrilled if this series delved into Quinlan’s journey post-Order 66, continuing his tale as he persists in the fight for justice. It would be truly captivating if it could unfold the untold story of him and Ventress, two characters whose dynamic has long intrigued fans, finally brought to life on screen.
The Guardians of the Whills
If Cassian Andor is given his own TV series, it’s possible that two other actors from “Rogue One” could also star in their own shows. The intriguing histories of Donnie Yen’s blind warrior Chirrut and Jiang Wen’s damaged mercenary Baze are ripe for exploration. Topics like how they became friends, why Chirrut is so dedicated to the Force while Baze appears more broken, what led them to Jedha, and much more remain unexplored. Additionally, a series centered around these characters could shed light on the often-discussed but rarely-explored history of the Guardians of the Whills and their relationship with the Jedi.
Yen and Wen displayed an amazing rapport in the movie “Rogue One”. It wouldn’t be difficult to imagine this connection continuing in a series, using some skillful CGI to depict them at younger ages. Though we already know their ultimate fate, exploring their origins could add depth to their stories, much like how the series “Andor” has deepened Cassian’s storyline.

Could it be possible that Emilia Clarke revisits her character Qi’ra from the film “Solo,” taking on a leading role in a new series? The could pick up where up they left off.
As a gamer, I can’t help but ponder about the ongoing story in that galaxy far, far away. Questions about what happened to the leftovers of the First Order and Rey’s quest to rebuild the Jedi Order linger in my mind. Despite the criticism the sequel trilogy has faced, I can’t help but feel there’s more to explore, more adventures to be had.
Jar Jar Binks
Listen carefully. The public reaction towards Jar Jar Binks has undeniably been negative for the past 25 years. However, Ahmed Best’s recent appearance in The Mandalorian was commendable. There is room to further delve into Jar Jar’s story, particularly when examining how the Empire took control and how he granted Palpatine emergency powers.
I have been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember, and I must admit that I’ve always had a soft spot for one particular character who has been loathed by many fans for decades. This character has been through so much over the years, from betraying the Jedi Order to being redeemed in the end, but his journey hasn’t been easy. He’s wandered the galaxy, stumbled into misadventures, and faced countless challenges that have tested both his strength and his resolve.
