T1 fans are understandably disappointed to see the reigning world champions facing elimination. While T1 is expected to win, 100 Thieves are hoping to deliver a surprising victory.
Following two defeats in the Swiss Stage of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, both T1 and 100 Thieves are fighting to stay in the competition. It’s surprising to see Faker’s team struggling with such inconsistent results, but T1 has often put their fans through emotional ups and downs, both domestically and in international tournaments.
T1 had a difficult start to the current World Championship, beginning in the Play-In Stage where a single loss would have meant elimination. They only managed one win in the initial round against FlyQuest, and then suffered defeats against CTBC Flying Oyster and Gen.G.
100 Thieves actually have an advantage going into this match. Since they aren’t expected to win, there’s less pressure on the team, and they can enjoy the experience of playing against T1, even if they don’t win. They’re in a good spot because any outcome is acceptable for them.
At the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, 100 Thieves started strong by defeating BLG in the first round. However, they then faced tough opponents in Top Esports and Hanwha Life Esports, and unfortunately lost, sending them into the elimination bracket.
Just one team will move on, and this is everything you need to know about the decisive match between T1 and 100 Thieves.

100 Thieves versus T1: Match details and results
The two teams are entering this crucial match with contrasting mindsets. T1 absolutely needs a win – as the current world champions, an early exit from the tournament would be unacceptable, especially not at the hands of a North American team!

100 Thieves faces a tough challenge, and even a strong performance against T1 would be a positive outcome. A win would be a significant accomplishment, no matter what happens afterward.

The teams that win their upcoming matches at the 2025 League of Legends World Championship will play one final match to try and qualify for the Knockout Stage.
