1000 lb Sisters cast member Tammy Slaton showcased her remarkable change after undergoing a significant weight reduction, an event chronicled together with her sibling Amy on the TLC program.

The television host, aged 38 and having just shared a health update following a medical procedure, teamed up with their sibling for a weigh-in at the very same scrap yard where their health transformation began, years prior.

On the air during Tuesday’s broadcast, Tammy unveiled her noticeably smaller figure, having shed a remarkable 500 pounds in all. She also underwent successful skin removal surgery as part of her transformation process.

On TLC’s Instagram, a brief clip showed the sisters making an appearance at the S&S Salvage yard, a return trip six years since their first visit.

Amy was heard saying, ‘Last time I visited this scrap yard, I felt as if I was nothing but scrap myself, just like a huge tractor.’

Next, the video showed us returning to the year 2019, where Tammy, Amy, and a supervisor named Ronnie encountered each other. Ronnie guided them towards a close-by weighing scale.

At that point, Amy clarified that she and her sibling were eagerly waiting for approval for a gastric bypass operation. They wanted to determine their current weights as part of the process.

I’ve been struggling lately as I don’t have a scale at home, and I was wondering if you know any simple methods or devices that could help me weigh myself?” – Tammy

Six years ago, I found myself tipping the scales at 406 pounds, much like Amy, and Tammy weighing in at a staggering 605. Hearing our weights sparked an outpouring of empathy from both of us reality TV personalities.

Amy remarked in a confessional, “When I saw that weight on the scale, it felt like my heart sank, realizing it was the heaviest I’ve ever been.

At that point, it was Tammy’s turn, and she confessed, ‘I didn’t feel like stepping on the scale. In truth, I simply wished to depart.’

When the number 605 appeared on the tiny screen, Tammy glanced at her sister, causing her to burst into tears.

She acknowledged that her current size didn’t just come about suddenly, but rather it’s a result of choices she has made, she admitted.

And in 2025, Amy stepped on the scale once again – with her transformed weight showing 249lbs. 

At first, the star remained silent, processing the news, before confiding to her sister, along with siblings Amanda and Chris, that she was taken aback, or rather, left in a state of surprise and disbelief.

Later on, Amy confided in Tammy that, during a recent visit to the scrapyard, she found herself wrestling with feelings of joy and discomfort because she had regained some weight.

However, Tammy expressed encouragement towards her sister, noting, “You’ve managed to shed an impressive 150 lbs! That’s fantastic. Keep in mind, you have every reason to feel proud of this achievement. Remember, you can always regain your focus whenever needed.

In the new snippet, Tammy’s current weight was revealed to be 216lbs. 

In April, she revealed that she had lost approximately 500 pounds, having weighed a maximum of 725 pounds during the debut of the seventh season on TLC’s show.

At my maximum weight, I tipped the scales at over 700 pounds. Currently, I’m down to 238 pounds. People constantly comment that I look slimmer than Amy, but it’s difficult for me to really believe it. She said this.

Over the past week, I’ve been bursting with excitement as I uncovered the news that my beloved idol, Tammy, has taken the plunge and underwent skin removal surgery! In a heartfelt interview, she finally shared her journey, leaving me even more captivated by her strength and resilience.

The television host revealed that she had been given the go-ahead for the much-anticipated operation, coinciding with her amazing weight reduction experience.

She shared her deeply felt emotions, which arose from putting in tremendous effort for the past six years to shed pounds and qualify for an eight-hour surgery.

As a fervent admirer, I couldn’t contain my elation when I shared the news with People magazine: “Six long years had passed since I embarked on this transformative journey, shedding over 500 pounds along the way. However, the moment of validation finally arrived – I was given the green light for surgery! The surge of excitement that coursed through me was indescribable.

After putting in a lot of effort, what I’ve been working on has finally come to fruition. My reaction, a mix of surprise and overwhelming happiness, couldn’t have gone unnoticed on my face.

On a different note, it’s worth mentioning that Tammy journeyed to Pittsburgh to undergo a skin removal surgery with Dr. J. Peter Rubin, a renowned plastic surgeon, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The gravity of the upcoming operation became evident to her the evening before.

She expressed that she felt quite anxious about the skin removal surgery, as she was mainly concerned about how she would perceive herself once her belly was gone.

On the eve of my operation, I was remarkably anxious, especially regarding the skin removal procedure. In comparison, I felt a lesser degree of apprehension about the sleeve gastrectomy since it involved less direct manipulation on my abdomen.

On January 18, Tammy went through a skin reduction operation that lasted approximately 8 hours. During this process, medical professionals eliminated more than 15 pounds of surplus skin from her neck, arms, and lower abdomen.

During the final episode, the series captured the intricate operation of the star. By the end, all her siblings were left speechless by her remarkable makeover, applauding her incredible progress on her weight loss path.

During the talk show, post-surgery, Tammy expressed: “It’s quite strange not having that weight dangling from my face anymore, and my ‘bat wings’ have vanished as well. Now, when I look down, there’s just empty space where there used to be something in my lap.

‘It’s going to take a little while for me to get use to seeing myself like this’.

It comes after Tammy revealed in April that she’s in new relationship with a woman.

During the seventh season of the beloved TLC show, the pansexual character Tammy and her sister Amy provide updates about their personal lives to their audience.

In a sneak peek from the upcoming series, she shared her blossoming love affair, mentioning that she has not disclosed this news to her loved ones as of now.

Tammy confided: “I haven’t shared this with my loved ones yet, but it turns out Amy isn’t the only one who has a new companion. I do too.

For a few months now, things with my partner have been progressing positively. It just so happens that the individual I’m involved with is female. As a result, I haven’t shared this news with my family yet, as I anticipate they may express their opinions on the matter.

She stated, ‘I believe my family might express more opinions than there are rude individuals in the world, as they seem to share many views quite frequently.’

Tammy has entered into a new romantic relationship following the passing of her husband, Caleb Willingham, whom she wedded in November 2022.

Tammy shared later that a while back she identified herself as pansexual, but since Caleb passed away, she no longer feels drawn to relationships with men.

‘I don’t know how my family is going to react when I tell them I’m seeing a woman.’

In a tragic turn of events, Tammy’s spouse, Caleb, passed away mysteriously at the young age of 40, only seven short months after their wedding in November 2022.
