1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton’s love story with fiancée Andrea Dalton as couple reveal quirky wedding plans

1000-Pound Sisters actress, Tammy Slaton, recently disclosed that she’s started a fresh romance – nearly three years since the passing of her spouse, Caleb Wilingham.

The popular TV host, aged 38 and identifying as pansexual, disclosed during the seventh season of the beloved TLC show that she is currently in a relationship with Andrea Dalton, a woman.

In just two short months, she astonished her followers by disclosing that she had become engaged to her significant other, and they’ve since been making preparations for their upcoming nuptials.

Tammy and her future spouse shared details about their upcoming wedding, following a request for suggestions on TikTok from their followers.

Upon one admirer displaying their conceptualization of a Kentucky Wildcats themed wedding via a vision board, the couple found themselves captivated by the unique notion.

Glancing at the dazzling images of a transformed basketball court turned into a dance floor, adorned with a unique cake and bridesmaids rocking sports-jersey styles, I couldn’t contain my excitement! Tammy and Andrea gleefully reacted to this spectacular scene unfolding before their eyes.

‘Oh my God, it looks amazing!’ the exclaimed.

Tammy captioned the update: ‘OMG so beautiful thank you so much.’

Although the wedding date for the couple hasn’t been revealed yet, it appears they might prefer an unconventional theme for their big day.

Tragically, Tammy’s husband, Caleb, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40, only seven months after their wedding in November 2022.

In a conversation after his death, Tammy openly shared that she was no longer keen on romantic relationships with males.

She’s currently in her first relationship since his passing. Tammy shared this news recently during the latest season of her television show. Alongside her sister, Amy, she updated fans about the recent happenings in their lives.

The individual, who managed an incredible weight loss of 500 pounds throughout her journey, initially gained prominence by featuring on the show “1000-lb Sisters” alongside her sibling in the year 2020.

In an April preview for the latest series, she discussed her blossoming romance in a private conversation, mentioning that she had yet to share this news with her family.

In my case, there’s a secret I’ve kept from my dear family so far – similar to Amy, I too have started seeing someone new.

‘I have been seeing someone for the past couple months and it’s going pretty well.’

She further mentioned, “The individual I’m romantically involved with is female. Hence, I haven’t shared this news with my family yet as they may express their opinions on the matter.

‘It seems like my family expresses a great deal of opinions, possibly even more than there are people who can be considered difficult or unpleasant, as they tend to share many different viewpoints.’

About a few years back, I openly identified as pansexual. However, following the unfortunate passing of Caleb, I’ve found myself drawn towards relationships exclusive to individuals who aren’t male.

‘I don’t know how my family is going to react when I tell them I’m seeing a woman.’

Back in June, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard it straight from the horse’s mouth – Tammy herself! She accidentally dropped the bomb on the Creative Chaos podcast that she was getting hitched! As a die-hard fan, I could hardly believe my ears!

Tammy shared that she and her fiancé typically relax at home with each other.

The surprising announcement left Hunter Ezell momentarily speechless: “Wait, you meant fiancée?” he asked, before proudly displaying his partner’s stunning new engagement ring to the audience.

Tammy was wearing an ‘Andrea’ necklace with pride, and later disclosed that she and her significant other had been a couple for approximately three years.

Tammy and Andrea, two residents of Kentucky, connected through a dating platform and have been chatting daily ever since.

Earlier this year, Tammy’s sister Amy also announced her engagement to her partner Brian Lovvorn.

Last year Tammy opened up about the moment she found out that her husband Caleb had passed away.

In an interview with People, Tammy shared that she received a worrying text from a friend of Caleb’s, stating that her husband wasn’t in good health. However, within the next 20 minutes, she was informed by the same friend that he had unfortunately passed away.

At that moment, Tammy resided in her house in Kentucky while Caleb stayed at the Ohio rehabilitation center they had both attended before.

‘I was sitting in the fetal position,’ she told the publication.

I received a text from Caleb’s friend up north, stating that Caleb wasn’t well and they were attending to him. Twenty minutes later, I got another message saying that Caleb had passed away.

The TV personality in question additionally commented that she has managed quite well during the ordeal, and even crafted a pendant shaped like a ring and a musical note using the remains of her deceased spouse.

She had grown attached to the jewellery and finds comfort knowing a piece of him remains with her.

‘He’s going to live on now forever because his memory is encapsulated,’ Tammy said.

Having him by my side makes each day more bearable. I catch myself frequently touching my necklace and clutching it tightly. It feels strange when I remove my jewelry; it’s as if I’m experiencing a kind of emotional detachment or unease, causing me to feel anxious.

Whenever I feel a pang of nostalgia for him, revisiting his show serves as a delightful reminder of what brought me happiness before.

Amy and Tammy are currently mourning the loss of their cousin Katie, who died at the age of 37.

The heartbreaking news was shared by their sister Amanda Halterman last week.

As a lifestyle advocate speaking here, I’ve personally been on an unexpected journey these past few months. I’ve found myself facing the challenges that come with stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma, an uncommon and robust form of stomach cancer, which was recently discovered within my own system this year. It’s been a tough fight, but I remain resilient and hopeful as I navigate through this battle.

Katie often appeared on TLC’s series, and she was there not just once, but even during season 5, following Tammy’s release from a weight loss treatment facility.

Amanda posted on Instagram, expressing deep sorrow in her heart and soul: ‘My dear little cousin sat with Jesus yesterday. She was an unstoppable person who radiated love so warmly and effortlessly.’

She went on saying: ‘She was the soul of the gathering and more than just a friend to me. I’m certain that both our grandparents and acquaintances were eager to see you return. My earnest request is for your prayers, particularly for my aunt, uncle, cousins, and above all, the little ones. May Natalie find her strength.’

Amanda ended her heartfelt message with a request: “Let’s keep everyone who cherishes her in our prayers. My gratitude goes out to all of you who have shown your support.
