100 Thieves signs another Counter-Strike celebrity: gla1ve takes a new role

Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, a well-known player who recently left ENCE, is taking on a new role as head coach for 100 Thieves. He’ll be leading a team that already includes star player Håvard “rain” Nygaard.

100 Thieves is making a big splash with its return to Counter-Strike, aiming to become a major force in the CS2 esports scene. They’ve already signed star player rain from FaZe Clan, and now they’ve added gla1ve as their head coach, signaling a new chapter for the organization.

CS2 100 Thieves: The first coaching role for gla1ve

Astralis’s time in Counter-Strike was truly remarkable. They won four Major championships, including an impressive three in a row. But beyond the impressive statistics, watching that team play was also incredibly exciting and inspiring!

Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander played a vital role in Astralis’s success. As their in-game leader, he’s considered a driving force and strategist – his ability to get kills and gather important information was essential to the team’s wins.

Following his departure from Astralis in 2023, gla1ve signed with ENCE. This was a stark contrast to the Astralis team he faced in the final match of the IEM Katowice Major back in 2019.

ENCE, with gla1ve leading the team strategically, primarily participated in smaller tournaments. During this time, gla1ve frequently spoke out about the issue of cheating in CS2 esports at that level.

So, Gla1ve just announced he’s stepping down as a pro CS player last month, which was a bit of a shock. But it makes sense now – he’s moving into coaching! I’m guessing that’s why 100 Thieves signed him around the same time, probably worked out the deal when he decided to hang up his mouse and keyboard.

This is a great move for everyone involved. 100 Thieves is gaining a highly skilled player with a strong understanding of CS2, and gla1ve has a new opportunity to advance his career. It’s also exciting for fans, as it sets the stage for another competitive team at the highest level of esports.

Håvard “rain” Nygaard as an IGL in CS2 100 Thieves

The details of this contract came out a little prematurely, but it’s still a significant move for rain. The player was long associated with FaZe Clan, but recently left the organization to join a new team.

This is a new position for Rain, as he’s taking on the role of in-game leader. He could definitely learn a lot from watching Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen, who’s a very experienced IGL!

Having gla1ve as a head coach should feel great for rain.

100 Thieves Roobet is back to Counter-Strike

The organization plans to re-enter the Counter-Strike esports scene in November 2025, thanks to a new partnership with Roobet.

It’s fantastic that esports betting companies are investing in CS2 by sponsoring teams. Thunderpick, for instance, even hosts its own World Championship tournament.

100 Thieves Roobet is a North American esports organization, meaning their new Counter-Strike 2 team will likely compete in that region. With experienced players like gla1ve and rain leading the way, 100 Thieves has a strong potential to compete on the international stage. We’re still awaiting further announcements about the team’s full lineup.
