10 Shocking Secrets From Weak Hero Class 1 Before Class 2 Premieres
🚨 HEED THIS: This article unveils key points from the preceding series, Weak Hero Class 1, before its sequel, Weak Hero Class 2, premieres on Netflix on April 25, 2025. Starring Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung as Yeon Si-eun, Ahn Su-ho, and Oh Beom-seok respectively, the K-drama is based on the webtoon by Seopass and Kim Jin-seok. The series revolves around a group of students who bravely confront the bullies in their classroom.
One less formal way of expressing this could be: “Weak Hero Class 1 is one of those K-dramas that didn’t get its due recognition initially. It debuted on Wavve in 2022, but it didn’t become globally famous because it wasn’t accessible to international viewers. However, once it was added to Netflix, it quickly gained popularity. So, before the upcoming Netflix original K-drama, Weak Hero Class 2, comes out, it might be interesting to check out what transpired in the first season of the show.
10. Yeon Si-eun Refused To Be Bullied
He’s Not Afraid Of Yeong-bin
Among the sharpest minds in his class, Si-eon, a kid who generally prefers solitude over socializing, found joy in studying. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred when the school bully, Yeong-bin, targeted Si-eon after he outperformed Yeong-bin in a Math contest. To Yeong-bin’s astonishment, Si-eon didn’t back down from him. In fact, Si-eon bravely confronted Yeong-bin and his gang when they attempted to bully him.
IMDB’s Highest Rated Episodes of Weak Hero Class 1 | |

S1.E8 – “Episode 8” | 8.8 |
S1.E1 – “Episode 1” | 8.7 |

Instead of Yeong-bin abandoning Si-eun after their fight, he intensifies his harassment towards him. He even resorts to drugging him when he runs out of ways to inflict pain on him. However, Yeong-bin gets into trouble himself and is relocated to another school, but this doesn’t stop him. He enlists the help of his cousin, who is connected to a gang, to harm Si-eun, but their attempts also fail miserably and they end up doing no real damage to him.
9. Yeon Si-eun, Ahn Su-ho, And Oh Beom-seok Became Close Friends
Thanks To Su-ho’s Insistence
When Yeong-bin can’t intimidate Si-eun, he selects Oh Beom-seok, a recent transfer student, as his next target instead. Unlike Si-eun, Beom-seok is unable to resist Yeong-bin. Tragically, Beom-seok assists the bully in drugging Si-eun, causing Si-eun to feel betrayed when he learns of Beom-seok’s involvement. Luckily, Si-eun forgives Beom-seok and the two develop a friendship.
A different student, Ahn Su-ho, gathers his circle of companions. Su-ho juggles two part-time jobs while being an MMA fighter, showing less interest in academic pursuits but always making sure he’s present to secure perfect attendance upon graduation. Su-ho is the one who makes them friends. He persistently encouraged the hesitant Si-eun to join him and Beom-seok for meals until they became very close.
8. Yeon Si-Eun Had A Complex Relationship With His Family
He Has Very Busy, Absent Parents
Since Si-eun’s parents got divorced, he lived with his father. Despite the small family unit, Si-eun and his dad weren’t very close as his father, a baseball coach, usually spent much time traveling, often leaving Si-eun on his own. Yet, this arrangement didn’t seem to upset Si-eun, who had grown accustomed to their lifestyle.
In contrast to Si-eun’s mother was alive, yet she wasn’t a significant presence in his life due to her demanding work schedule. She seldom spent time with him, and he often felt that she chose work over being with him. This is why he said he didn’t have a mom. In the K-drama, Si-eun was only depicted with both parents on one occasion.
7. Oh Beom-Seok’s Father Was Abusive
The Boy Was Only Adopted To Improve His Father’s Image As An Assemblyman
Despite being born into a wealthy family with a powerful assemblyman as his father, Beom-seok’s relationship with him wasn’t positive. He frequently faced physical abuse at his father’s hands when he displeased the assemblyman. Beom-seok’s dad viewed him as weak and felt ashamed of him.
Initially, the assemblyman believed that harshly dealing with Beom-seok would strengthen him, but it had an opposite effect. Instead, it caused Beom-seok to become suspicious of others and ruthless. The sole motivation behind adopting Beom-seok into that family was to project the assemblyman as a compassionate man, aiming to win over his voters’ trust.
6. Oh Beom-Seok Transferred From Another School Because He Was Bullied
He Was Targeted Because He Was Considered The Weakest Student
In the premiere of “Weak Hero Class 1”, it’s initially disclosed that Oh Beom-seok switched schools from a wealthy institution. However, the motive behind this move is unveiled progressively throughout the Korean coming-of-age drama. At his previous school, Beom-seok was singled out by peers who perceived themselves as the most powerful because he appeared to be the weakest among them.
Despite the change of schools, the bullying persisted towards Beom-seok. They carried on harassing and provoking him until he reached a breaking point. Moving to a new school didn’t bring about significant changes in Beom-seok’s life. Instead, he encountered more individuals who inflicted physical pain upon him. The main distinction is that this time around, they exploited him for his money.
5. Oh Beom-Seok & Ahn Su-Ho Had A Falling Out
Beom-seok Started To Change Completely
The blossoming camaraderie among Beom-seok, Su-ho, and Si-eun stood out as one of the most endearing aspects of Weak Hero Class 1. Regrettably, it didn’t endure for long. When Beom-seok reencountered students from his previous school who had once tormented him, he started to alter. Rather than confiding in his friends about his struggles, he distanced himself from them. He held a deep animosity towards Su-ho, feeling that he was constantly trying to dictate Beom-seok’s actions.
The dispute between Beom-seok and his former friend, Su-ho, intensified when Beom-seok and his new companions sabotaged their lunch arrangement. This action provoked Su-ho to attack him. Enraged by this point, Beom-seok concocted a scheme to retaliate against Su-ho. They tampered with the brakes on Su-ho’s motorcycle. Fortunately, Su-ho escaped injury, but Beom-seok continued devising means to harm the person who was once his ally.
4. Gil-Su Took Advantage Of Teenagers
Si-eun And Yeong-i Came Up With A Plan To Put Gil-su Behind Bars
In “Weak Hero Class 1,” we meet Gil-su, a con artist whom Seok-dae, Yeong-bin’s cousin, used to work for. Gil-su operated a deceptive gambling app that enticed underage teenagers, who were prohibited from gambling, into betting large sums of money. At first, these youngsters would win on the app, but later they would start losing their winnings gradually. Once this happened, Gil-su would step in and offer to loan them more money so they could keep playing.
When they couldn’t repay the debt, they were compelled by Gil-su to begin working for him, performing various tasks – some legal, others not – to benefit Gil-su. Gil-su also demanded money from Su-ho, Beom-seok, and Si-eun, but they refused his requests. In response, Si-eun and Yeong-i devised a plan to arrest Gil-su, putting an end to his scams and protecting teenagers from further harm.
3. Oh Beom-Seok Left The Country In The Season Finale Of Weak Hero Class 1
He Was Sent To The Philippines
Initially appearing as a kind-hearted teenager, Beom-seok later revealed a cruel facet to his character. In an attempt to punish Su-ho, he employed an MMA fighter to deliver a brutal beating. This assault left Su-ho with severe injuries that were potentially fatal. Although Beom-seok recognized his mistake in the drama series, it came too late as the consequences of his actions had already taken effect on Su-ho.
To shield his reputation from the actions of Beom-seok, his father arranged for him to attend a new school located in the Philippines instead. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Beom-seok will make an appearance in “Weak Hero Class 2.” However, considering the strained relationships he left with Su-ho and Si-eun, it seems highly improbable that they would rekindle their friendship if Beom-seok does return for the second season of this K-drama.
2. Ahn Su-Ho Was Hospitalized At The End Of Weak Hero Class 1
He Ends Up In A Coma
In the last episode of Weak Hero Class 1, the confrontation between Su-ho and Beom-seok ended sadly. At Su-ho’s birthday party, Yeong-i got a text from Beom-seok, inviting her to meet him. Assuming she was going there to reconcile their friendship issues, Yeong-i was taken aback by what she discovered upon meeting Beom-seok. Unfortunately, Beom-seok had planned to use Yeong-i as a lure for Su-ho, hoping he would come to her rescue because he cared about her safety.
In the world of movies, I’m a dedicated buff who can’t get enough of thrilling narratives. In our latest tale, it wasn’t Su-ho who read Beom-seok’s texts, instead, it was Si-eun. This decision would prove costly for Si-eun as he found himself at their arranged meeting spot. This time, the consequences were severe; Si-eun wasn’t just walking away unscathed, no, he took a brutal beating.
When Su-ho learned about Si-eun’s ordeal, his protective instincts kicked in, driving him to confront the attackers. Unfortunately for him, Beom-seok and their gang were waiting, and they showed no mercy. The outcome was harsh; Su-ho was severely injured and ultimately fell into a coma at the climax of Weak Hero Class 1.
1. Yeon Si-Eun Transferred To A New School
He Was Expelled After Attacking Some People
Initially known for his hot-tempered demeanor during high school, Yeon Si-eun struggled to cope when he learned about Su-ho’s coma. However, upon returning to school, rather than showing compassion or patience towards others, Si-eun displayed aggression, with the notable exception of Beom-seok, who played a part in harming his friend. Due to his violent behavior, Si-eun was expelled from the school and faced difficulties finding another educational institution that would accept him, as many were reluctant to do so.
Initially, Si-eun attends Eujang High School, and it’s plain from the start that he may need to defend himself while there. Since his fellow students were unaware of his standing, bullies singled him out. However, they underestimated him when he retaliated against them, creating the perfect backdrop for Weak Hero Class 2.
