Kei Urana’s latest anime, a popular action series, is currently airing its first season and has quickly become a fan favorite. It features exciting fights and a realistically tough world, even showing characters scavenging for resources. While it shares similarities with other well-loved anime in the same genre, it tells a heartwarming story about discovering beauty in unexpected places and transforming what others discard into something precious.
Amidst a decaying world, *Gachiakuta* features a vibrant and fashionable group of characters who embody the series’ central ideas. Each character, whether major or minor, is as distinctively designed and full of personality as the special Vital Instruments they carry.
Regto was Damned to a Fate he Just Didn’t Deserve
In *Gachiakuta*, Regto is primarily shown as the protagonist’s deceased father. While his death serves to move the story forward, he’s a far more complex character than just a plot device. Even though he dies early on, flashbacks reveal what a wonderful father he was, making his death even more impactful.
Even though Regto might not have been Rudo’s father by blood, he acted like a true father, making sure Rudo felt loved, safe, and happy. He also taught Rudo valuable lessons about kindness and friendship, hoping to help him find joy and meaning in life, even when things were difficult.
Amo is a Well-Written Tragedy
Amo initially seemed like an enemy, but she eventually became an ally to Rudo, providing the first real clue about who killed his father – though not without causing some problems for him and his team first. She can control people by manipulating their memories with a special device, but despite her abilities, she wasn’t actually malicious. Amo is a sympathetic character hidden behind a dangerous exterior.
Amo had a difficult and painful life, and all she really wanted was to feel loved and find a sense of belonging. While her past doesn’t justify her mistakes, it helps explain why understanding and compassion are so important – qualities her special device offers when used for good. Amo is a bit innocent, but she’s kind, approachable, and genuinely wants to improve.
Zanka Nijiku Balances Aura-Farming Skills & Comedy

Zanka Nijiku becomes Rudo’s trainer when he joins the Cleaners, and he’s a huge admirer of Enjin. His special weapon, the Lovely Assistaff, is one of the more unusual tools the Cleaners have – it’s powered by an anima, but doesn’t look like something you’d find around the house. This gives him a magical appearance, though he’s definitely not a wise wizard.
I’ve noticed that Zanka really tries to project an image of being calm, but honestly, he can be just as quick-tempered and rough around the edges as Rudo – I remember their first meeting being a perfect example! While his job as a Cleaner definitely gives him moments where he’s cool and capable, it’s his relationship with Rudo that really makes him funny. He’s a great source of comic relief, honestly.
Tamsy Caines is a Supporting Character With Incredible Aura
Tamsy Caines is a key member of Team Eager, known for staying calm under pressure, even in the middle of a fight. He uses a special device called Tokushin to control incredibly strong threads, effectively trapping enemies in a web of blue. Tamsy is a skilled and observant fighter, and his friendly nature makes him a dependable teammate.
Tamsy is a fighter who carefully analyzes every aspect of a battle before striking with controlled power. Beyond Enjin’s Team Akuta, he’s arguably the most fascinating and enigmatic character in *Gachiakuta*. His calm and reserved demeanor makes him surprisingly captivating, leaving viewers eager to learn more about him.
Riyo Reaper is Gachiakuta’s Best Girl
Riyo Reaper is a significant character in *Gachiakuta* – she’s the first female Giver we meet and currently the most skilled Cleaner in battle. Her weapon, called the Ripper, is essentially a giant pair of scissors that she can use like swords. But instead of using her hands, Riyo expertly controls the scissors with her feet and legs, slashing through enemies with incredible ease.
Riyo is self-assured and optimistic, and she has a knack for inspiring those around her. She’s also the first person, after Enjin, to make Rudo feel truly welcome, offering a warm and friendly presence even in the harsh surroundings of the Ground.
Rudo Revives Everything Good About the Typical Shonen Protagonist

Rudo Surebrec, the main character of *Gachiakuta*, is fueled by a justified desire for revenge. After losing his beloved father and being wrongly accused of the murder, he was abandoned by everyone. While revenge is a frequent motivation for heroes in shonen anime, Rudo’s passionate drive sets him apart in a story centered around finding value in things others dismiss as worthless.
Rudo has a unique power: he can transform any object he feels close to into a powerful tool, fitting with the series’ idea of finding value in the discarded. Despite his imperfections, Rudo is a relatable character, and his journey of growth shows that even familiar tropes in action stories can be meaningful and engaging.
Remlin Rises to the Challenge After Heartbreaking Loss
Remlin Tysark is the current Spellcaster of Canvas Town, having received the powerful magical artifact called Pen from her predecessor, Gob. She uses her abilities to help the Cleaners, providing them with spells that protect them from harm and offer other advantages. Though young, Remlin is a remarkably skilled and intelligent individual.
Remlin was deeply saddened by the loss of her mentor, just like everyone else who cared for him. However, she refused to let her grief overwhelm her or bring down the people of Canvas Town. Remembering what he would have wanted – for the celebration to continue – she showed remarkable maturity and organized a stunning fireworks display to honor his memory and give him a fitting farewell.
Gris Rubion Shows Everyone What it Means to be a Team
Let me tell you about Gris Rubion – he’s incredible! He’s the main guy behind the Cleaners, and honestly, his kindness is almost as impressive as his raw power. I mean, this guy can take down a small Trash Beast with a single punch, no problem! And it’s not just that – he’s strong enough to *lift* one of those things and chuck it a good distance. But here’s the best part: despite looking super intimidating and being incredibly strong, he’s actually a total softie at heart!
Gris deeply cares for his teammates, always praying for their well-being before missions. He quietly shares his hopes with a special talisman, which later proved crucial in saving Rudo’s life. While he might not have extraordinary powers, Gris is a vital part of the Cleaners and a trusted protector for many within the organization.
Semiu Knows Her Worth & Gachiakuta Fans Love It
Semiu Grier is the receptionist at The Cleaners, and she seems a bit reserved at first. She’s direct and efficient, always professional in her work. But beneath that exterior, she genuinely cares about her colleagues and works hard to ensure every mission goes smoothly and everyone returns safely.
Semiu possesses a unique ability to understand people deeply, almost as if reading their life stories. She uses special glasses – her most important tool – to scan someone’s health, identify any problems, and even gain insight into their personality. While the glasses aren’t helpful in a fight, Semiu’s skills are crucial to the work of the Cleaners.
Enjin is the Ultimate Mentor For Rudo

I was instantly hooked when Enjin showed up! He’s the first ‘Cleaner and Giver’ Rudo meets, and he made a *huge* first impression with his amazing fighting skills using Umbreaker. Seriously, he’s the one who really showed us what a Vital Instrument could *do*. Plus, he quickly explains the messed-up world underneath everything – he calls it ‘The Ground’ – and gives us a glimpse of just how dangerous things are. Despite looking a little rough around the edges, Enjin has this surprisingly warm, almost fatherly way of treating Rudo and his crew. He’s a really compelling character!
Like Satoru Gojo from *Jujutsu Kaisen*, this character has a unique and charmingly eccentric personality. He’s laid-back and doesn’t worry much about what others think, which makes him both intriguing and admirable. He genuinely cares about those he mentors and has a knack for spotting talent in others, making him a natural leader who easily inspires those around him.
